Casablanca Winery
- Able to sit outside and taste about 10 different wines from the Casablanca wine lineup including the Santa Carolina brands
- I was able to catch a glance at the insides of a vine unground root system (check out the pic)
- enjoyed some fabulous empanada's and appetizers as well as some great sparkling wine while the sun was shining
- saw a cute winery dog at the newly designed winery
- tried my second Chilean Riesling (it wasn't as good as Cono Sur's Riesling as it had spent some time in barrel, but I do enjoy that fresh and clean style, none the less it was interesting to taste and I appreciated the experiementation with the varietal)
- Enjoyed another great sparkling wine and some wonderful reds as well
- ate lunch in the vineyard and although it was a bit muddy the sun was shining and lunch was satisfying
- You should try the Syrah and the Carmenere which are available at the LCBO
- Took a tour of the quaint Amayna Winery - it is beautiful
- Met winemaker Fransico - who lead us personally through his wines
- Was able to try 5 solid wines (Sauv Blanc, Sauv Blanc Barrel Fermented, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Syrah) If you can find them in the LCBO try them - they were one of our favourite Wineries on the trip
- Tasted an amazing Carmenere (2006 Kai)
- Saw the winery under construction - they will be showcasing the new part to their winery in march 2010
- Rated the top wines in the same order as Robert Parker (I felt special!)
