All Strewn up!

So, to be honest with you, this weather is really bumming me out. Although this past Saturday was a dream come true kind of day (I was wearing shorts and absolutely loved it!) the rest of the weekend's weather was dismal and left me feeling very blah like. I think that I may have been meant to live in a warmer climate country where the heat barrels down on you and the pool is consistently calling. Now, Don't get me wrong I am a home-grown Canadian Gal, but sometimes the weather really gets me all shook up. But I do have to say that a great glass of local wine always brings my happiness levels back up to where they're supposed to be even if the the day/weekend is grey.

To keep the weekend and the relaxation at an ultimate high (especially when the weather is temperamental) I tend to crack open a bottle a wine. Lately I have been feeling more in the mood for reds than whites - simply due to the weather. I like to open a bottle of wine on Friday night and most times it will last the whole weekend through, and more than likely it will last into the beginning of the week as well. That way I able to enjoy about a glass or two a night.

This weekend I enjoyed a Bottle of Strewn Cabernet Merlot - available at the iYellow Wine Store and the LCBO, and the winery - for under $13 bucks! The Winemaker Joe Will says that he wants his wines to find a good home, and Joe let me reassure you that your wines have found a safe home with me! The Two Vines Cabernet Merlot is easy drinking and totally affordable. It paired nicely with my delivery Italian Penne Arrabiatta dinner (One of a Kind Pasta on Queen Street), and definitely did the job of lifting my spirit this weekend. It is almost as smooth as Elvis Presley (a wine I would definitely match with his music), is medium bodied (also like Elvis Presley), and although the bottle isn't a sexy as Elvis in his twenties, the wine itself is certainly my type of sexy (although I must admit I am more picky about my men than I am about my wine!).

If the weather blues are getting you down, or you're looking for that great bottle of red that is easy drinking, great with the BBQ, is local and also affordable be sure to grab yourself a bottle (or a case) of Two Vines 2006 Cabernet Merlot ($12.95) and for old time sake throw on some good ol' Elvis that is sure to brighten your Summer spirits.

I am officially ALL STREWN UP!
